Uttarakhand’s Border Hill Town Munsiyari
Munsiyari is a beautiful hill Station. It is situated in the Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand. It is on the border of two countries from one side Tibet border and another side Nepal border. Munsiyari is covered by snowy mountains from all the sides. It is in the center of beautiful mountains peaks. Just in front of Munsiyari, a giant Himalaya is situated which is world famous and is known as Panchkuli Mountain (peak of 5 Himalaya). According to historians, it is called as the way of 5 Pandavas to heaven. The Very left side of it is Trishul Peak and Right Side is Danadhar which is a beautiful Picnic Spot and at the back side of it, Khaliya Top is situated.
How to Reach Munsiyari
Munsiyari is around 295 kilometers from Kathgodam, Haldwani Railway Station and from Nainital; it is 265 Kilometers in Distance.
By Bus – Take a Bus or taxi from Kathgodam to Munsiyari to reach Munsiyari while enjoying the scenic beauty of Munsiyari in the way.
From Kathgodam the way pass by Bhimtal which is 10kms away from Nainital, after that Bhawali which is famous for Fresh Fruits, and Almora city along with Chitai Temple also comes in the way going to Munsiyari. After Almora many small places like Dhaulchina, Seraghat, Gadaai, Berinaag and Chaukdi. While going in long way places like Thal, Nachni, Timtia, Kwity, Dor, Girgaon,Ratapani and last Kalamuni. This is the last Destination before reaching Munsiyari and Munsiyari is a divine place to visit solo as well as with Family.

Weather of Munsiyari is always Pleasant but from April to May and September to November its beauty is Mesmerizing.
Munsiyari is a place where you can enjoy four different kinds of weather at a time. In spring the weather is divine and fabulous for Nature lovers, June and July months are heavy rainfall season for this place due to which the roads leading to Munsiyari can be blocked because of Land Sliding.

History of Munsiyari:
According to Historians it is believed that Pandavas started their journey to Heaven from Munsiyari. Munsiyari comes in the way of ancient salt route from Tibet, and it is also at the entrance of Johar valley, which leads to Goriganga River which has its source at the Milam Glacier.
Places to Visit in Munsiyari:
Birthi Water Fall:
Birthi Water fall is located around 14km away from Tejam near Munsiyari. This stream fall is above 400 feet above sea level and you can also go here from Kalamuni Pass.
The Birthi falls is about 35 km from Munsiyari, the fall is situated in the mid of dense forest and it gives a view of Heavenly Himalayas. Nature lovers can plan a visit to Munsiyari and while reaching at the spot can enjoy tremendous waterfall which lures not only people from India but also International tourists.
Betulidhar is a cosmic garden blossomed with scarlet coloured rhododendrons. It is one of the best places to visit in winters as this place offers exciting skiing opportunities. Betulidhar is situated at an altitude of 2,748 meters above sea level.
If you really want to see snowy mountains and enjoy the adventurous sports skiing it is the best destination. The sunrise and sunset are most captivating part of this place and the sky above betulidhar turns its color to crimson at the time of sunrise.
